artist statement:
Read but hardly remembered, rarely acknowledged, repeatedly overlooked, and even unheeded. I discovered an “expiration” date on a milk carton when it collided with a significant date in my life. This concurrence started a process of purchasing milk with personally relevant dates followed by a practice of photographing every carton that entered my home regardless of any correlation. Although the project speaks of consumerism, consumption, and serialization; the dates are a personal driving force of reminiscence, celebration, love, and loss.
